Jacksonville Jaguars Waive Leonard Fournette
Many Jacksonville Jaguars fans woke up scratching their heads this morning to the news of Leonard Fournette being traded. Leonard Fournette was drafted with then 4th overall puck back in 2017, and almost every fan of the Jaguars would not consider him a bust. So what led to Leonard Fournette being cut? Well we know it wasn’t his playing ability as he recorded 1,000 rushing yards in 2 of his first 3 seasons. The only season he didn’t record 1,000 yards was his second season where he only played in half of the games. As you might recall Fournette was suspended for fighting during a game, and the teams general manager Tom Coughlin was cited saying Fournette had “disrespectful” behavior on the sideline.
Tom Coughlin is known for running a tight ship and the recent trade of Jalen Ramsey opened up discussion that players were not happy under his regime. Dante Fowler was rumored to have been fined 25 times by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018, but he tweeted saying the NFLPA helped him get it all back. Overall Jacksonville has become stained by being the least favorite place to play among NFL players, and as far as being able retain talent they are struggling. Just this off season alone they have lost star players Jalen Ramsey, Leonard Fournette, and Calais Campbell. All Hall of Fame potential players.
