Jacksonville Jaguars Lose 3rd Consecutive…

Another week another loss for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After all of the teams acquisitions and losses it looked like it would be a rough year for the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, after a monumental week 1 victory against the Colts it looked like management knew exactly what they were doing and Jacksonville would have a good season. Since week 1 however the Jaguars just can’t find a way to win, and have lost 3 straight. The 3 straight losses came from the hands of the Titans, Dolphins, and the Bengals. Last weeks loss to the dolphins was the Dolphins first double digit victory in 39 games, and this weeks loss to the Bengals gave rookie phenom Joe Burrow his first win of his NFL career. So why did the Jaguars struggle against the winless Bengals? Let’s break it down…

How The Game Played Out

The Jacksonville Jaguars started with the ball on Saturday but their first two possessions led to an interception, and a missed field goal. The Bengals first two possessions led to a punt, and a made field goal putting them up 3-0 with 2:41 remaining in the first quarter. The next Jaguars possession was 5 plays 75 yards ending with a Gardner Minshew Touchdown pass to DJ Chark. The first quarter concluded with the score 7-3 in favor of the Jaguars. The Cincinnati Bengals put together a great 88 yard drive to start the second quarter however Myles Jack intercepted the possible touchdown pass from Joe Burrow. The Jaguar offense brought in 2 field goals and the Bengals got a touchdown all in the 2nd quarter bringing the score to 13-10 going into halftime. The second half the Bengals started with the ball, and capitalized on 3 straight drives leading to two touchdowns and one field goal. This scoring run brought the Bengals the lead 27-13. The Jaguars would eventually get it rolling as well and by the end of the game were only down eight losing the game 33-25. The biggest thing I saw from watching the game was the inability of the defense to stop the Bengals rushing game. Joe Mixon had himself a career day rushing for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Notable Stats

Gardner Minshew- 351 yards 2 touchdowns 1 interception

DJ Chark Jr.- 95 yards 2 touchdowns

James Robinson- 75 yards rushing, 32 yards receiving

Josh Jones- 11 Tackles

Jacksonville Jaguars Defense- 1 Sack

Joe Burrow- 300 yards 1 Touchdown, 1 Interception

Joe Mixon- 151 yards rushing, 30 yards receiving 3 Touchdowns

Looking Into Next Week

Next week the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the road again against the Houston Texans. The Houston Texans are 0-4 on the season but if we have learned anything from this Jaguars team is that we love giving the opposition their first win. I really hope Jacksonville can bounce back next week, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they fell to 1-4 on the season either.
